Spray pumps on products like hairspray can become clogged after a period of use and then stop working. But this is easily fixed. Just unscrew the spray pump and place it in boiling water for a while. Remove the pump, let it dry, and then put it back on the container.

Sometimes the pump in our airless packaging stops working. You can resolve this by taking a small stick, such as a paperclip, and gently pressing in the small hole located on the underside of the bottle to push up the inner base.

In an airless bottle, the bottom moves upwards when you pump, thereby pushing the cream out of the bottle. If the pump is not working, it often means that the bottom has become stuck. By pushing the bottom up, the pump should start working again.

Many believe that it is the short tube on the pump that is the cause of the problem. This is not the case. All our airless bottles have this short tube.

Our balms contain several types of beneficial fats that do not penetrate as deeply into the skin as oils do. However, the essential oils in the balms are deep-penetrating, causing a purifying or regenerating effect, depending on which balm is used. As the beneficial fats in the balms stay on the skin’s surface, they protect it from cold, wind and dehydration. They also help the different skin layers interact better. Therefore, it is better to apply a balm after an oil and/or a cream, in order to optimise their effects on the underlying skin layers.

Mineralolja är ett annat ord för råolja, det vill säga den vi pumpar upp för att utvinna bland annat bensin och diesel. När oljebolagen producerar dessa uppstår restprodukter som inte kan användas till drivmedel. Istället dyker de upp i många kosmetologiska produkter.

Dessa restprodukter kan ha olika benämningar i ingredienslistan på hudvårdsprodukter och smink. Här är några av dem:

Ozokerit (ingår till exempel ofta i mascara), Polyisobutene (ingår till exempel ofta i läppglans), Mineralolja, Petrolatum, Paraffinum liquidum, Vaselin, Paraffin,

Petroleum, Paraffinum och E 905.

Eftersom mineraloljan inte innehåller fettsyror, utan enbart kolväten, försämrar den hudens naturliga återfuktning och gör dig beroende av exempelvis ett cerat, så att du måste applicera nytt gång på gång. Det lömska är att det känns bra för stunden, men i realiteten tillför det ingen som helst näring till huden och ger därmed inget bra långsiktigt resultat.
