ALL ABOUT NIACINAMIDE

Discover why skin loves Niacinamide – a versatile active ingredient

Niacinamide has become a skincare staple and it’s not hard to see why. This well-researched form of vitamin B3 offers the skin a range of benefits. It is a versatile ingredient with a natural place in any skincare routine, regardless of skin type.

But what exactly is Niacinamide and what can it do for your skin? Here, we take a closer look and explore when it may be particularly beneficial to add it to your skincare routine.

What is Niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. One of its key properties is its ability to help strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier, its outermost defence. It helps bind moisture and protect the skin from external stressors.

When the barrier is weakened, the skin may be more prone to feeling dry, tight and sensitive or become red. By supporting the skin barrier, Niacinamide helps the skin bind moisture and become more resilient.

As with our other skincare products, the quality of the ingredients also matter. As always, we carefully select each ingredient and only work with Niacinamide that meets our high quality standards.

What does Niacinamide do for the skin?

The beauty of Niacinamide lies in its versatility. The same ingredient can be just as relevant for dry and sensitive skin as for oily skin with increased sebum production.

✔ Strengthens the skin barrier

Helps the skin bind moisture, making it better equipped to withstand external stressors.

✔ Helps reduce the appearance of redness

Particularly suitable when the skin is sensitive or reactive.

✔ Balances the skin’s sebum level and makes pores less visible

Helps regulate sebum production and can make enlarged pores less noticeable.

✔ Promotes a more even complexion

Helps improve the appearance of skin texture, leaving the skin looking smoother, clearer and more even.

Who can use Niacinamide?

Niacinamide suits all skin types and can be used daily, all year round. It can be particularly beneficial during autumn and winter, when cold weather outdoors and dry, heated air indoors can put extra strain on the skin barrier.

If you have sensitive, reactive, dry or dehydrated skin, Niacinamide helps strengthen the skin barrier, soothe irritation and bind moisture. If you have oily, combination or blemish-prone skin, its sebum-balancing properties can be particularly beneficial when dealing with enlarged pores, congestion, spots and blackheads.

Why do we combine Niacinamide with Zinc?

Niacinamide Barrier Serum combines a high concentration of Niacinamide with the mineral Zinc. Zinc contributes with soothing, sebum-regulating and astringent properties, making it particularly beneficial when the skin feels sensitive, red, congested or out of balance.

Together, Niacinamide and Zinc help strengthen the skin, balance sebum production and improve skin texture. The result is calmer, clearer and more resilient-looking skin with a more even texture and less visible pores.
